Cataloging

My time was cut a little short today, so I worked on cataloging the penultimate piece in the bound volume. The pieces that say "by Thomas Moore" are a little tricky, because it's not clear whether he was responsible only for the words (some say specifically "words by Thomas Moore" which is nice) or whether he had any responsibility for the music. Thus, it's not always clear whether or not he should get main entry. It is clear from his entry in Grove that he wrote music as well as lyrics, so it's not impossible that he might be responsible for the music of some of these. To complicate matters more, the "symphonies and accompaniments" are often attributed to someone else! I guess this person could be considered an arranger, but it's just not clear. The various records in WorldCat don't help - everyone has done something different!

Tomorrow I'd like to get up to speed on procedures for the Sheet Music Consortium aspect of the project. I'm not sure exactly how much is going to get done in the next few weeks (apparently the records won't even be able to be ingested into DLXS until a final installation is done?).
